The origins of the long practiced art of Ham Tossing are shrouded in the haze of antiquity and drunken memory but the tradition continues and thrives. Discover the inception of the Ham Toss and unravel many other mysteries such as where to find a good caterer on Cape Cod, why Will Ferrell is learning Spanish, why Reykjavik’s mayor is wearing a wig and lipstick, how to find your car keys and why Turkish weddings can be seriously problematic. Other important discourse includes the importance of Community Radio, competitive sauna, nude roller-coasting, Susan Boyle gets waxed, who did NOT attend the Big Event this past weekend and The Legend of the semi-famous Toilet Seat Charlie.

Plus: A special interview with Christopher Hawley, host of WOMR’s Radio Variety Hour.

Songs include: Late in the Evening and Gimme a Pig Foot.

Plus, Rip Torn gets lost on the way home, the Situation(tm) wants to market underwear and hallucinogenic bears. Also, France bans some more stuff while an inflatable gorilla starts a fire. OH! And it’s Groundhog Day!
Songs featured might be: I don’t need no doctor and Rock the Casbah (in Arabic).

The January 12th, 2010 episode starts with Anne’s annual rant about when to take your Christmas lights down (The last acceptable day is Epiphany, by the way) and continues with discussions about Casablanca, solving the world’s problems and wondering why it is newsworthy to say it is cold in the winter. Also, Harry Reid gets in trouble for saying that Senator Obama is a negro who speaks well. Plus, the new tell-all book about the recent campaigns, “Game Change”, is discussed. One of Anne’s favorite things ever: Rod Blagojevich says he is “blacker than Obama.” And there’s a whole lot more people! Plus Chris Hawley calls in!

Songs featured include: Black or White, She’s a Beauty and I think I’m Going to Kill Myself.

Happy New Year! The first show of the decade! Yay!
Michael is an idiot and leaves his cell phone on in the studio (he’s got a little fairy ring tone). Anne and Michael talk about Sir Isaac Newton and his alleged birthday, Kate calls after a “devastating” poetry reading, there’s some dicsussion about the surname, “Ayscoff”, South Carolina shows its collective brilliance once again by offering Chik-Fil-A coupons for wearing your seatbelt, McDonald’s still thinks they are serving “food” (we disagree) and a dating site bans 5,000 subscribers for gaining weight over the holidays. We also discuss the film, “The Hangover”.
Music by such celebrated performers as Shawn McDonald, David Carradine and George Takei (not together) and the song, “Fatso” by The Story.
